This spring, Leadville Main Street is launching a brand-new event and it’s your chance to shop small and win big! From May 1–3, 2026, join us for the first All About Leadville Twin Lakes weekend, a celebration of community, local flavor, and the small businesses that keep our towns vibrant, even during the quieter seasons.

Fish Hatchery 5K Trail Run
Date: May 31, 2026
Experience a scenic 5K trail run through subalpine forests and lakeside paths at the historic Leadville National Fish Hatchery. This cross-country style event supports local youth athletics and recreation in the Leadville area.
The course traverses a variety of terrains, including dirt roads, paths, and trails, offering participants a unique running experience. Registration is open to all, with free entry for participants aged 17 and under. Bib pickup is organized on the morning of the event at the hatchery location on Highway 300.
Proceeds from the event support local youth athletics and recreation initiatives, including local Nordic teams and community events such as Children’s Fishing Day.

Leadville Trail Marathon & Heavy Half
Date: June 27, 2026
Simply put, the nation’s toughest marathon. The Life Time Leadville Trail Marathon and Heavy Half presented by La Sportiva takes trail runners through the historic mining district’s challenging trails to the highest point of any Leadville Race Series event: Mosquito Pass (13,185 feet). As you take on the baddest trails and thinnest air in all of endurance racing, you’ll need all the Grit, Guts and Determination you can muster.
General registration is sold out, but interested participants can join the waitlist. Minimum age requirements are 16+ for the marathon and 14+ for the Heavy Half. Entry fees are $160 for the marathon and $140 for the Heavy Half.
